11月底感恩节过后，欧美国家即将迎来耶诞节与新年连续假期，而英国大型连锁超特易购（Tesco）在实体店与网站上将「耶诞树」（Christmas trees）改称「常青树」（Evergreen Tree），引来众多英国网友愤怒，斥责这行为是「觉醒派的胡闹」、「愚蠢的觉醒行为」。
《每日邮报》报导，伦敦议会保守党领袖霍尔（Susan Hall）直接在社群平台「X」开呛「真是荒谬至直，说穿了，它就是一棵耶诞树，我受够了这些所有觉醒的愚蠢行为」；英国女子游泳奥运银牌得主戴维斯（Sharron Davies）认为有点傻，「这就是一棵耶诞树，人们摆出来是为了庆祝耶诞节」。
多数英国网友认为，特易购这样做是为了「政治正确」，呼吁抵制，也有一些网友质疑，特易购是否对基督教节日感到冒犯。特易购则声称，他们提供各种真假耶诞树，及各种耶诞产品，帮助顾客庆祝耶诞节，至于包装上写的「常青树」，是为了说明盒子内是哪种耶诞树。
这并非特易购首次因「耶诞节」相关措辞惹怒民众。2021年，特易购曾因贩售未标示「耶诞」字样的塑胶常青树遭到炮轰；2022年布莱顿大学建议员工避免使用「耶诞节」改称「冬季假期」，2023年多地耶诞市集也改名为「冬季市场」。批评者认为，这种「刻意去宗教化」的作法反而激起更多反感，让原本只是节庆象征的耶诞树，被硬套上一层不必要的政治正确色彩。

Tesco now provides a luxury "Evergreen Tree" which English people can utilise over their Happy Winter Holiday.
